In order for our bodies to function, much less kill unwanted organisms, detoxify and eliminate toxic chemicals or heal itself, we need a correct compliment of nutrients. Unfortunately, most of us today are not getting what we need from the food we eat and our health is compromised by nutritional deficiencies.

Your vitality and energy is derived from live food. Most foods today are all dead—or are not really foods at all—as in boxed cereals, canned vegetables, soda pop, etc. There is a huge difference between dead, devitalized pseudo-foods, even with added synthetic or isolated vitamins, and a diet of real foods that are capable of nourishing your body.

“Designed Clinical Nutrition” is exactly that: designed (especially prepared based on a specific plan) clinical (pertaining to the results gotten in clinical use or actual practice on huge numbers of patients over many years) nutrition (real food, designed by nature to enable the body to repair itself and grow healthfully).

First of all, Designed Clinical Nutrition is not ‘over-the-counter’ vitamins. Over-the-counter vitamins are pharmaceutically engineered chemical fractions of vitamin structures reproduced in a laboratory. They are not “whole food.” Just like pharmaceutical drugs, pharmaceutical synthetic vitamins can cause serious side effects and other problems (to put it mildly). Please ask and we’ll be happy to recommend entertaining and in-depth resources that cover this aspect of vitamins and other supplements.

Because they are not made from whole foods, “over-the-counter” vitamins lack the essential synergistic elements normally present in WHOLE foods and that make the vitamins work. When you give your body a synthetic, partial, vitamin, the first thing it will do is attempt to complete the whole complex by using its vitamin stores. In this way, synthetic vitamins can make you even more deficient and nutritionally out-of-balance.

An example of a whole food could be carrots. Carrots are high in Vitamin A Complex. A “complex” is something made up of many different parts that work together. Synthetic vitamin A does not contain the whole “Vitamin A Complex” found in nature. So, if we were looking for a food high in Vitamin A, carrots might be one of our choices.

If one actually were deficient in any of the components of Vitamin A Complex, one would be wise to seek out a supplement that was made from whole foods that were rich in this complex—not from chemicals re-engineered in a laboratory to look like one little part of the Vitamin A Complex and erroneously labeled as “Vitamin A.”

And just because a vitamin label has “natural” on it doesn’t mean it is whole food. Commercially-available vitamins need to have only a small percentage of their content derived from natural sources to be labeled “natural.”

In fact, the reason why scientific research on vitamin therapy results in so many conflicting findings is that most of it is done with these shoddy synthetic substitutes.

Designed Clinical Nutrition utilizes whole food in tablet, capsule, or powder form, made using a process that preserves all of the active enzymes and vital components your body needs. We create a program designed for you that gives your body exactly what it needs to address the dysfunction found using Nutrition Response Testing.

Why can’t I get what I need through eating the right foods?
It is important that you eat the right foods, however; misconceptions abound regarding what exactly is “eating right.” The processed food industry spends over $8 billion annually convincing you to eat things that are truly not “eating right.” Over $1 billion of that is spent on marketing to children. As a result, in recent decades people have been consuming foods that actually contribute to (if not cause) their health problems. An important part of what we do is help you recognize which foods may be causing your problem.

Furthermore, efforts to cut costs while increasing quantity of foods produced have actually produced food that is less nourishing. Vegetables bred for increased size and crop yield have lower amounts of protein, amino acids, and many nutrients reported researchers at the University of South Carolina in 1981: "When breeders select for high yield, they are, in effect, selecting mostly for high carbohydrate with no assurance that dozens of other nutrients and thousands of phytochemicals will all increase in proportion to yield." (Phytochemicals are naturally found compounds that may contribute to health.) When the same crop is grown year-after-year on the same soil, it depletes the soil of key nutrients. The average vegetable found in today's supermarket is anywhere from 5% to 40% lower in minerals than those harvested just 50 years ago according to researchers at the University of Texas, Austin. Foods grown on high volume, commercial farms typically are also laden with pesticides and other chemicals. And now the broad scale effects of carbon emissions are further reducing the nutrient quality of our crops.

Many people we see in our practice have eaten themselves into their current state of ill-health, to one degree or another. The deficiencies or imbalances lead to a breakdown in resistance, or immunity, and a loss of the ability to cope with environmental stresses (chemical, germ, or otherwise).
The good news is that it is possible to reverse the process!

How are the products we use produced?
One example of a Designed Clinical Nutrition supplement that we use is called “Catalyn”. A Standard Process Catalyn tablet starts as wide variety of carefully chosen organically grown vegetables. Vacuum and low heat removes the water and fiber without heating or cooking the vegetables. The concentrated food is then pressed into a tablet.

The key to this whole procedure is the way it is done, using the “Standard Process” method:
  1. Standard Process nutrients are derived from plants grown on their own farms, in soil free of pesticides —and no chemicals are ever used. PhD’s check the soil before the seeds are sown, to make sure of the fertility of the soil. Even the weeding is done by hand.
  2. The machinery involved in the processing of these products is made of glass and stainless steel only.
  3. The temperature used in processing harvested plants is never raised above 90 degrees Fahrenheit so that the active ingredients are not cooked; they remain active and alive, and have a very long shelf life.

To summarize, first we find the hidden cause(s) of your symptoms using Nutrition Response Testing and Direct Resonance Testing. Next we prioritize and handle the main problem areas first; and we do this by utilizing a safe, non-invasive, drug-free, whole foods and homeopathic approach.

Through an analysis of your body’s reflexes, we help you to determine the exact nutrients you need to supplement your diet, in order to bring about balance and better health.

We make these highly concentrated therapeutic formulations available to you in tablets, capsules, or in powdered form to “supplement” your current diet. That’s why they are called “food supplements.”

Depending on your individual situation, we might also require that you make some specific changes in your diet & eating habits, and in your routines, in order to bring about the best possible results.
It’s that simple!

Is it possible to restore your health?
What could be more natural?  What could be more correct?  Each cell, tissue, and organ in your body replaces itself every day, month, and year.  The health of each cell, each tissue, all of your organs, is dependent on having correct nutrients, the building blocks, available for growth and repair.

Designed Clinical Nutrition provides the right basic materials.
Nutrition Response Testing tells you when and what to use to bring about the desired result.

Can you see how this could be an effective approach to getting you well?
And once that is achieved, do you see how you might be able to use this approach to stay well?

In the end you are the one responsible for your own condition. If your goal is to actually find and fix the hidden cause of your health problems, then you are in the right place.
